Hi There Guys and Girlies, Hope you are all well and surviving this credit crunch leading up to the festive season! Can you believe Christmas is nearly here already! Where has the year gone hey. Every year I make a pact with myself to start shopping earlier. I think, 'I will try to do it during the year so it's not all a mad panic at the end', and I actually stuck to it this time! Well, almost. I did my very first piece of Christmas shopping today, yay, so proud of me! This time I have a whole three weeks on last year's attempts! Even with lots of trips to America I find reasons why I should be shopping for presents for little old me instead of for Crimbo, which is a bit naughty but hey there would be no fun in my job if I couldn't make the most of my trips. (And being female, it would be simply rude to deny myself access to such good shoe shopping opportunities! Did I mention I am spending Christmas in Orlando? Lucky me.) All I can say is be thankful for Internet shopping, as that will be my way of getting through the rest of the pressie purchases. Its so much easier to shop with no late night shopping, walking all round the malls, fighting your way through the crowds that walk towards you, queues in shops that go by the mile and ultimately, those never ending queues for the carparks. All you do is find what you want, pay for it (that's the hard part) and wait for it to arrive. Oh and everything is usually much cheaper online too. Bliss. I am a big fan……Now if only I could win the lottery to pay for it all! Hehe. The moral of this story is…plan ahead, or buy abroad. Or it could be, shop online instead of fighting the panic-buying shoppers on the streets. Or how about win the lottery and just get someone else to do it all for you! I like that one the most, but you choose your favourite option and try it out next year if you havent done it this time round. Happy Crimbo shopping my readers! Hi Readers/Players,
Well today I am writing from America, where I flew to today, and just for a change, a lady decided to collapse in the rear galley! This is actually quite a regular occurance as it happens, on average every third or fourth long haul flight I do, so I'm used to it. What I'm not used to though is the passenger not coming round immediately. Infact the lady was pretty much incoherent and laying on the galley floor for about 20-30 minutes. This was quite scary and got my adrenalin going, and what was worse, there were no other crew around to help me and I obviously couldnt just leave her!
Fortunatley, we had a group of about 46 RAF ladies and gents onboard, some of whom were giving me grief at the back of the plane at the time (you know who you are! 
) so, bless their little cottons, they looked after this poor lady for me, while I got some help. We got the lady on oxygen, got some blankets as needed and eventually she came round properly, gathered her bearings and was fine. I'm sure it was just lack of food and dehydration really – note to yourselves, before any flight, make sure you are well hydrated, have eaten and have had a decent amount of sleep as 4-5am starts are killers, and more prone to see you feeing ill in the air. And if you dont feel well, call the crew from your seat, don't come to the galley if you think you may pass out as it's safer for you if you're already sitting down, incase you don't quite make it to the galley/toilet you were aiming for!
Anyway, these RAF passengers were brilliant, not just for helping out a hostie in need, but also for their sense of humour during a long flight (and 2 hour delay!), and just making my job so much more enjoyable. Today was one of the best flights I have ever done, mainly because my passengers, RAF and otherwise, were all so lovely, and friendly. If I coud have upgraded you all, I would have.
Incase you hadnt guessed, the main gist of this post is really just a little thankyou note and aknowledgement, so thanks very much guys, it was a pleasure flying with you!
